CONNIE MOHN, M.Ed., BCEA

Connie serves on the Advisory Board of NSEAI.

Connie Mohn retired from The Arc of Chester County after 16 years of  working tirelessly as an Advocate and serving as the Director of Advocacy. During her career, Connie positively impacted thousands of individuals and their families with her never ending advocacy efforts.

Connie’s focus and dedication in supporting and empowering parents and caregivers to become their child’s best advocate helped empower individuals to effectively self-advocate.  She strengthened transition plans, built and united the regional advocacy community, facilitated change and promoted self-determination with effective and meaningful inclusion.

Her patience, persistence and strong presence in  Chester County’s community and schools resulted in the success of advocacy services offered regionally and increased this region's capacity to address educational inequity. Connie promoted professionalism within the educational advocacy community and thus the value education advocacy has in our community by working collaboratively with schools, educators, community stakeholders and other advocacy organizations.

Connie was honored with the President's Award  at an Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony for the Arc. This is an award given to an individual or organization that has supported the advancement in the field of disabilities. Connie truly exemplifies her social justice mission to advocate, educate and provide services to empower individuals with disabilities and their families to enhance the quality of their lives. She was truly an ethical pioneer in the field and profession of education advocacy.

Connie was not afraid to shed light on injustice and was instrumental in developing the initial NSEAI curriculum, psychometric monitoring, and encouraging regional and national training of education advocates.
