Lois Roh

Parent and Advisory Board Member

Lois and her husband are the parents of twin boys on the Autism Spectrum with multiple comorbid diagnosis. Navigating through the Special Education System and advocating of behalf of their children has been full of challenges.

Their children’s unique presentation of disabilities, complex nature of educational needs and a multitude of conflicting behavioral barriers, made accurate assessments and development of appropriate programming extraordinarily difficult. Parents struggled for years with the school district to develop a functional, outcome focused IEP and appropriate placement.

Throughout their journey, parents worked closely with a BCEA/Case Manager, to facilitate the IEP process and to ensure the boys access to FAPE. Parents have had their differences with the district but, have always been able to come to an amicable agreement.

Lois passionately believes that parents are their child’s best advocate and that they should utilize any and all resources that are available to them. She and her husband remain dedicated to their children’s education and are committed in sharing their knowledge with others.

Lois worked as a Designer in NYC, currently resides with her family in Montgomery County, PA
